More stories and adventures to share from the country of Zimbabwe!

Hello all! Mackenzie has had a crazy couple of weeks and is very excited to share more of what she's been up to!  

It's been over a month since Kenzie's been in Zimbabwe! She is doing well but had a little bit of a scare a couple weeks ago...

She was required to check in to the immigration office every 30 days but in that particular situation when she went to have her passport stamped they wouldn't stamp it, so it was not stamped in time and there was a day or two of uncertainty what would happen. But all ended up being fine and she had herself a grand time while she was in town waiting for the immigration office to open after the weekend.

While she waited she got to go to the Lion Park where they have many animal rescues and some born in captivity that Kenzie got to be around and even a few she got to interact with.  There were hyenas, lions, wolves, Nile crocodiles and even a Galapagos tortoise! 

I'm going to add some pictures of Mackenzie playing with the lion cubs, she was just so excited to get to be around so many animals and had a wonderful time! The Lord really turned her scary situation into some wonderful memories. 

She's also gotten to go to a crocodile farm since she's been there and a carnival, both of which she has made lots of memories from. She especially loves spending time with her good friends the Coetzers who have been driving her around and spending a lot of time with her. She loves them so much!

Kenzie has started her tutoring now, her main goal is just to help the students improve on their English so that their lessons are easier for them to understand. Tutoring for her mainly just looks like spending time together, having a good time, playing English games (like Telestrations), they are also currently reading the book Christy for their tutoring and they are just not allowed to speak in their language Shona. But overall they are just having a good time together while they're also improving on their English. 

Last but not least I thought that I should add that Mackenzie has added to her list of friends since being there with a dog that she has dubbed Kuga which is the Shona word for adopted. Of course he is not her actual dog but she likes to think of him that way and speaks of him very fondly. 

Oh and truly adopting the culture around her, Mackenzie got braids and extensions a couple weeks ago and is starting to look more and more like a real African everyday! 

As for prayer requests, Mackenzie asks that you be in prayer for this school as it is still a very young program and there are still so many logistics that need worked out. So for the college, the students, those in leadership over it and those helping to organize the details of it.

Kenzie is very happy to be back in Zim! 

She has officially started her schooling at Living Proof Christian College and is enjoying her 6 hours of class she does every Tuesday and Thursday. She will also be starting a work study program here soon, helping out around Pemberton Station.

She hasn't started her tutoring yet, but she loves her 10 class mates, and has already made friends as well as a good many memories. 

Her favorite class right now is Christian Ethics taught by the sweetest professor, Troy Stanley! 

Kenzie is also excited about getting to work with Farming God's Way, a ministry there that helps to bring efficient biblical based farming to foreign countries. If you haven't heard of it before, you can look up farming-gods-way.org to learn more about that ministry! The students at Living Proof will be working with them to make their own gardens soon as a part of the work study program.  

Here are some pictures of Mackenzie and her first couple of weeks in Zimbabwe. One highlight of her time, was when she was offered by a friend to ride in a cart pulled by two cows and said it was better than a hayride!
